Have you been wanting to order some of our great Silkies, but were not sure just how to do it?
Don't let that stop you! I'm writing this page to show you how we set up our Silkies, so you'll have a better idea how to order them!
NOTE: Want the most for your money?
Order Silkies by the full sheet!
(6 to a page, 4 to a page and so on.) Why is this? Because everytime someone requests a Silkie, I have to print an entire page anyway, and while we do have some extra available, we'd like to keep the amount of them to a minimum!
If you look at the prices listed, you'll see that single silkies of 1/6 page, or 1/4 page are more expensive than that same fraction of the full page price! That's to encourage you to order the full page - and get a great savings!
The sheets we print on are the size of a regular letter-sized piece of paper: 8.5" x 11"
We divide the sheet up into equal portions depending on the number per page.
I use a layout program (Quark) to create template pages for each type of silkies page (six to a page, four to a page, three to a page, etc.) Inside the lines on the layout (invisible) there are equal-sized picture boxes. When you request a page of that size Silkie, I add the pictures you request to the boxes, and print them at our best (photo) quality.
I have created examples below of the layouts we use for the different Silkie pages:

As you can see, we provide for a margin around each Silkie. On most of the Silkies, this margin is approximately 3/16 to 1/4 inch wide all the way around.
On our regular Silkies with white backgrounds, however, we provide a half-inch margin all around the picture box. This is so you can incorporate them into your piecing without having to lop off part of the picture. These silkies include: Birds, Butterflies, Cats, Victorian Flower Children, Halloween, Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day, and most of the various Christmas Silkies such as Santas, Angels, Christmas Children, etc.
Silkies with a Background, such as our Classic Fairies, Mermaids, our new Christmas Card Silkies, Flower Fairies, and those by Kinuko Y. Craft have a much smaller margin - so we can give you the most picture for your money!
Now that you understand what a full page of Silkies looks like, just go to the type of Silkie you're looking for (ESD Silkies, Flower Fairies Silkies or Kinuko Y. Craft Silkies), choose the size (6 to a page, 4 to a page, etc.), then follow the instructions for typing in your choice of images in the box on the right on each ordering page!

Please Remember! All images have a proportionate height and width that may not fit exactly into the "print" box on the silkies! This means that some will have wider margins either on the sides or the top/bottom to keep them in proportion. We will try to make the image fit into the spaces as best we can to give you the largest image possible within these limits!
