So many of you have had such kind things to say since I restarted Evening Star Designs this Spring. Many of you have urged me to stay in business even after the Close-out sale. I’m considering doing just that!
For this reason, I’m sending out this survey in hopes that you will give me some guidance, as a customer, on things you’d like to see ESD carry!
I have some of my own ideas, and have done some research on the web to find out about other CQ vendors. I hope you’ll take the time to send me a reply on the questions below:
1. First of all, what are your interests? What kind of things do you enjoy doing, Crazy Quilting , Sane Quilting, Doll Making, Embroidery? Tell me what you like to do most!
2. Threads: I’ve been considering carrying the following threads: Wildflowers, Waterlilies, Floss Overdyed, Silk Buttonhole Twist, DMC size 12 perle cotton, and DMC size 8 perle cotton.
What are your favorite threads? Are there others you’d like to see listed here but don’t? How much do you ordinarily pay for them and where do you usually buy them?
3. Metallic Threads: In the past I have carried Kreinik Metallics. Do you like using them? What colors would you enjoy if I decided to carry them?
Tell me which you like, and which you don’t: 1/8” ribbon, 1/16” ribbon, Medium Braid, Fine Braid, Very Fine Braid.
Would you rather see some other brand of metallic thread offered? If so, what would it be?
4. Silk Ribbon: Does anyone out there still do Silk Ribbon Embroidery? If so, what kind of ribbon do you prefer and where do you usually buy it?
5. Buttons: I’ve been planning to add some Mother of Pearl and shell buttons to my list. Also, the Susan Clarke line has come out with some nice new buttons you might be interested in. What kind of buttons do you like the best?
6. Books: Other than the books I’m planning to write, are there other books you would like to see offered through the website?
7. Fabrics: I’ve still got quite a supply, especially of Silk Dupioni. What kind of fabrics do you like to use in your Crazy Quilting, where do you usually buy it, and how much do you usually have to pay? Are there some that you like but have trouble finding? What colors do you like to work with?
Do you like to use Velveteen? Would you like to see it offered in some more unusual colors (other than black, red and green, for example). The people I used to buy Velveteen from carried the very best I could find, it was not inexpensive, but came in a great variety of colors, was of a very high quality, and had an extremely low nap, which makes it easier to work with when you’re embroidering. Are you interested in seeing more of this fabric?
8. Beads: I’ve still got so many beads it’s unbelievable! What are your favorite sew-on beads?
Would you like to see more colors of the tiny beads, like the lentils, tiny teardrops, tiny petals, and possibly more tiny 3-sided ovals? What colors are your favorites to work with? What would you like to see become available?
Are you interested in seeing beads in Mother of Pearl in Heart, Star and Crescent Shapes? How about freshwater pearls?
What other beads would you be interested in seeing?
9. Other Goodies! Here’s where you get to give me suggestions on what you’d like to see!
Please feel free to add any comments or let me know of anything you think I should know!
Thank you for your participation! I appreciate you taking your time to give me a little guidance, and advice!
