I have ordered some absolutely beautiful Fine Silk Overdyed from Stef-Francis in the UK. It compares in size to the size 12 Pearl, but does not have so high a twist. Gorgeous! It comes in skeins of 30 meters and will sell for $3.50/skein. I have ordered the following colors: 01, 04, 07, 10, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 28, 30., 32, 33, 34, 37, 40, 41, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, & 50. In addition, I hope to round out my Silk Dupioni by adding some Rose/Pink, Gold, and other shades of reds and magentas. By the way, I just learned something about the Silk Dupioni that you might find interesting. As opposed to the Silk Shantung (which is also very beautiful!) The silk Dupioni is actually made from Hand-dyed threads, and is hand-loomed - Hence it's texture and the occasional slub - It's meant to look that way! The Shantung is so smooth (it is machine made) it almost looks like some kind of man-made fiber! I love the sheen and the texture of the Silk Dupioni!
Further news! Many of you have asked about mail-order Clubs! I'm thinking about re-starting the Treasures Club in March or April, but I will have to get enough people signed up before I can do this. The price will be $20.00/pkg which will include the postage, once per month, mostly threads, beads, buttons, ribbons, trims and other treasures, sometimes pieces of fabrics, with possibly some brief notes on how to use new materials you may not be familiar with. This way I can offer more products than I can keep in stock all the time - If you're interested, please contact me, and I'll put your name on the list!
