I'm always hearing people say that they don't like to work with metallics.  These are so great, and their colors are so wonderful!  In general, using them in your work livens it up!  I think the people who have said that have been confronted with pieces where too much and overly shiny metallics were used.  I have tried to find subtle colors without the garish shine that people shy away from.

Don't be afraid to try them in your work!  I do!  You'd be surprised how a little stitch, some couching, or thread "weaving"  (interlacing with other stitches) can brighten up your whole piece!
